One of the common feelings running through every newcomer in blogging is the enthusiasm – over-enthusiasm, actually, to go on and create as much content as possible to jumpstart their blogs. This is because a lot of them are already “counting the chicks that would hatch from the eggs”.
Indeed, blogging can change lives. Others, meanwhile, have used their blogs as platforms to promote their services. Definitely blogging opens a lot of opportunities for anyone who has committed themselves into it. Others in fact have become millionaires. That is why once a blogger has set up his mind to create a blog or website, he is very eager to start as soon as possible.
However, after several weeks of setting up the blog and everything, and then starting to write your content on a regular basis, you will eventually come to realize that what you initially thought of blogging is very, very different to what you are experiencing right now.
First and foremost, you will surely, at one point or another, run out of ideas to write about. This is the most common pitfall in blogging. It’s like having a writer’s block. But the funny thing is, there is definitely a lot to talk about. You just won’t know how or where to start again. Therefore in blogging, it is definitely important for you to have fun doing it. Because if it is starting to be a chore, then it will take the excitement out of you, and it will feel like you are blogging just for the sake of having content in your site. There should always be room for fun.
After a while of not seeing anything significant happening in your blog, you will definitely start to have doubts on whether or not you did the right thing. And when nothing happens still – as if your blog is just sitting there in its corner of the cyberspace and being ignored by people – loss of confidence will definitely start to trickle in. Thing is, you should not give in to these emotions. It doesn’t matter if your blog is undergoing that “phase” for a moment. You just have to “keep on keeping on”. The more you push – and have fun along the way – the more everything will become easier, and a greater chance of being found at last.
One of the hooks of blogging is the eventual monetary reward one gains from it. However, it doesn’t come easy. You have to really work hard on your blog. Nobody said it was easy. Hard work and perseverance: those are the key. You have to make sure people will come to your blog. To have them coming, you have to create a lot of content for your blog, so that people will find its relevance to their interests. By and by, you will realize that slowly, the fruits of your labor will come to be. But keep in mind, it will not happen overnight or just after a few months. Keep to your blog, and income will slowly find its way in.
In a blog, you write. Therefore you will not escape those moments that nothing, really nothing, will just come out in your typing. Surely, you got lots of ideas. But amazingly, you just can’t put them into writing. It happens. And it will happen to you. And it’s a universal truth. Every writer, even those who are/were famous, once in their lives, encountered a “block”. It is inescapable. So, how to deal with it? Don’t write; and don’t force yourself. Leave your computer. Drink a glass of milk. Walk a while. Do anything that will keep you away from the computer for at least 15 to 20 minutes. Do anything that will keep your mind off of writing. In short, relax. Keep it cool. Enjoy your surroundings. Soon, you will realize that after relaxing for a bit, ideas, or better, a framework, will come into you. And you will find yourself typing furiously to see to the end of that idea in writing. That’s the beauty of relaxing for while when you come into a block. And of course, to have an arsenal of ideas, you have to read lots of materials – books, other blogs, informative websites, news sites, anything. That will give you plenty of ideas to “connect” when trying to create your posts.
There are other blogging pitfalls that you will encounter as you go along your blogging journey. How to deal with it? It will all be up to you in the end. Eventually, you will find out for yourself how to better address these challenges. You just have to keep in mind that you have to do a lot of hard work and to persevere. You also have to remember to relax when everything seems tough, and have fun while working on your blog.
