Now that you know what a blog is and have thought about what to blog, let’s start to register one. Again, we will use WordPress.com in this series.

1. Go to the WordPress.com, and then click the Sign up now button. This will display the Blog Address  window shown in the first figure. Type the blog address you want. Note that you cannot use an existing blog address. WordPress will offer you a domain blog for a fee but, for now, we will use the free wordpress.com address.

2. Fill up the Username, Password, Confirm password, and the  Email text boxes. Then read the terms of  service,  choose the language, and click the Sign up button to continue.

3. Next, fill up the Update Your Profile window – First Name, Last Name, and About Yourself - and then click the Save Profile button.

4. After Step 3, an email with a link will be sent to you (the email you used in step 2) asking for your confirmation. This is WordPress’ way of checking if you are an authentic user.

5. Click the link to activate your blog. This will take you to your Dashboard, the control panel of your blog. The video below introduces you to your Dashboard.
